Germany's burgeoning anti-immigrant rallies

Weeks of growing protests against Muslims continue in Dresden with 15,000 hitting the streets last Monday.

Dresden, Germany - A movement called Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (PEGIDA) continues to grow in popularity, drawing thousands of people to a series of Monday evening marches in the city of Dresden.
On December 15, an estimated 15,000 people took part in PEGIDA's march, many came from all over Germany. One was Paul, a retired doctor from the capital Berlin, 200km away. He said it was important for him to march in order to show that PEGIDA is made up of ordinary people, not far-right ideologues.

NAKBA PALESTINE

Comfort. That’s what most of us have. A place to call home, a bed to sleep on, plenty of food to eat from, loved ones to feel loved from and even the luxury of a full wardrobe. But, what if those were to be taken from you, so suddenly, so violently, so forcefully, and you had no say regarding it. And you were left astray, homeless. And hungry. And cold.
Would you feel wronged?

Yes! That’s the harsh reality of what Palestinians have been through for decades.
I’m sure all Palestinians have the date 15th May 1948 engraved in their minds.
Muslims all around the world remember this tragically as Nakba Day.
The day Israel celebrates as its Independence Day.
The day where nearly 800 000 Palestinians were violently abolished from their own land, their own homes by the Zionist.

But did you know Nakba Palestine started way back centuries before that? From 1799 when Napoleon tried to sneak way into Palestine to fulfill his own agenda, then the Balfour Declaration in 1917, to the British government roles in the influx of high numbers of Jews in Palestine, followed by the Israel illegal independence in 1948, and it actually goes on to this day.

This year it’s been roughly 66 years since 1948. Palestinian farmers are still being expelled from their own land. Palestinians are driven away from their own home to make way for illegal Israeli settlements. Palestinians are being taken into custody unjustly in Israel prisons, children included. Human rights issues are violated each day. Food, medical aids, sanitations are lacking.  People are killed every day. Innocent civilians, children not spared.

However, as years passes by, it’s a good sign that people all around the globe regardless of religion and nationalities are starting to be aware of the Palestine-Israel conflict. Many organizations have publicly voiced their disagreement of the violation of human rights inflicted on the Palestinians. Boycotts of Israel products campaigns have been carried out all around the globe. Many notable individuals like Rachel Corrie and Tom Hurndall died while on volunteer missions in Gaza. They too, like many other people of the world, stood in solidarity with the people of Palestine.

A lot of people call this the modern holocaust. Someone also labeled Gaza as the largest open-air prison in the world. This is the reality of what is happening in Palestine to this day.

This year, hopes are being reignited for the liberation of Palestine. Hamas and Fatah have showed signs of reconciliation and to stand together to stand up for Palestine and it’s people.

While this is happening, what are we doing? As a Muslim, have we at least included them in our prayers? Have we at least changed ourselves for the better? When we think of being lazy, let us be reminded of the Palestinians who rebuild their homes numerous times after it’s being destroyed; who despite all the apartheid, never give up on life, who treasure every minute, every second, every day, and uses the time wisely.

You might think you’re insignificant. But really, you matter! Your donations matter regardless the amount. You, trying to boycott a product, matter. You, yes you! Your prayers definitely matter. And while you’re at it, don’t forget to say a prayer for the people in Egypt, Syria and all around the globe. :)

Resepi Ayam Masak Halia

Assalamualaikum wbt.

Dialog sehari-hari orang yang tak berapa nak reti masak sangat

“Hari ni nak masak apa? Balik-balik kari, kurma, sup. Kari, kurma, sup.”

Bujang style!

AYAM MASAK HALIA

Ayam
Halia (sebanyak mana yang suka)
5 ulas bawang putih
½ biji bawang merah
1 sudu sos tiram
1 kiub pati ayam
I sudu tepung gandum yang dibancuh dengan air (agen pemekat)
Air, garam, gula atau perencah Secukup Rasa, secukupnya

Kacau sampai naik bau.
2.       Masukkan ayam, goreng sampai separuh masak, masukkan sos tiram, air dan kacau.
3.       Masukkan kiub pati ayam.
4.       Rasa-rasa macam ayam dah masak, masukkan tepung yang dibancuh tadi.
5.       Kacau, masukkan bahan perasa.

‘Bendera merah atau bendera palsu?’‘Di Laut China Selatan atau Lautan India?’‘Is it a hijack or an accident?’

‘Eh, ajaib sungguh!Camne la agaknya jantung kita boleh ber’lub dub’ sepanjang hari?Kita tak suruh pun dia berdegup.Involuntary action katanya.’‘Hmm, aku tertanya-tanya.

Pengetahuan manusia, amatlah terbatas.

Tok tampar macam buaya baru tahu!

April Fool

‘He, who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second or third time, till at length, it becomes habitual’ –Thomas Jefferson’

Since, it’s April fool’s Day, let’s talk about joking shall we.
No, I’m not going to preach you.
And no, I’m not someone with zero sense of humor,
Nor am I a perfect human being,
But recently, I came across something, which made me go ‘ouch’ dalam hati, so I’d like to share some of it with all of you.

Joking in Islam 101

1)  It’s a no, no, making fun of Allah, Islam, His Messenger, or verses of the Quran.

Allah says:“If you ask them, they declare: ‘We were only talking idly and joking.’ Say: ‘Was it at Allah, and His verses and His Messenger that you were mocking? ’Make no excuse; you disbelieved after you had believed” (Surah al-Tawbah 9:65-66)
2)  No lying!

Someone asked Rasulullah (SAW)): “Do you joke with us?” Rasulullah (SAW) replied: “I do, but I only say that which is true” (Al-Bukhari, Tirmidhi)

Rasulullah (SAW) said, “Woe to the one who speaks and tells a lie in order to make the people laugh at it. Woe to him. Then again, woe to him.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

3) Don’t joke around someone’s misfortune.

Rasulullah (SAW) said, “Do not express malicious joy towards your brother’s misfortune, for Allah may have mercy on him and you may be stricken by the thing you made fun of.” (Al-Tirmidhi)

4) Make sure it is during an appropriate time/person/place.

In gatherings, a joke or two, might lighten up the mood, however, during a funeral for example, it just doesn’t seem right to laugh out loud when people are grieving. Be considerate to the people around you, please.

And it’s not right to pull a prank on a complete stranger. You don’t know him or what he’s been through. Plus, you don’t know his medical condition. It could be that you scare someone random and he dies from heart attack. What will you do then?

5) Mind your words

Joking does not mean it’s okay to swear or curse at someone. And when you prank someone, it’s highly probable you might end up getting cursed at as well.

6) Laughter is the best medicine, people say, BUT excessive laughing is rather toxic. Excessive joking included.

Among our friends, there’s always at least this one person who jokes a lot, so we call him/her, ‘The Joker’. Sadly, because that particular person tends to do it a lot, we can’t take him/her seriously anymore to the extent that even when they are telling the truth, we shrug it off as lies. Sad but true story.

7) Beware of backbiting

E.g.: ‘Mina’s so fat; I doubt she’ll fit that dress. Just joking’
Talking about other people in their absence, especially if you know that if they were to hear it, they’d be upset, EVEN IF IT’S JUST A JOKE is considered backbiting.

8) Don’t overdo it

I remember the time I was in high school when the seniors pulled a prank on someone among them. What was supposed to create laughter ended up in yelps of pain, as the ‘victim’ needed stitches on her eyebrows afterwards.
The moral of the story is don’t joke around and make someone experience misfortunes just because you’re too preoccupied in being the ‘cool’ one responsible for generating laughter.

Believe it or not, the prophet Muhammad did joke around too. He was someone with a sense of humor, just like the rest of us. But remember, there’s a way to joke too. And you laughing shouldn’t be in expense of someone’s mishap.
