Debunking Evolution

We all know Mr Charles Darwin right? For most medical students, he seems to be an icon of biology, God forbid us though. His evolution theory (or might I say hypothesis) of natural selection, which states that modern species are the products of an extensive process that began over three billion years ago with simple single-celled organisms, became somewhat like the holy grail of science.

Doubting evolution seems blasphemous for the religion of science that has so much been embedded within the nonbelievers. As the geneticist Theodosius Dobzhansky wrote 37 years ago, “Nothing in biology makes sense, except in the light of evolution.” Such bold statements indeed, however, what are his basis? Let’s dare to question them, the nonbelievers, and may they open their eyes, ears, minds and hearts to the undeniable path. I mean, they did believe the world was flat, and that I must say was an embarrassing moment for human history.

Evolution in this context mixes 2 things together, one real and one imaginary. Microevolution (variation) and macroevolution. This is how the latter works. Basically, for any changes to happen, rare DNA mutations have to occur that would enhance the creature’s ability to survive and thus produce better offspring (natural selection). Now if we remember , the rate of DNA mutation is approximately 10 to the power of 8.

This would actually seem feasible if only one gene is needed to alter and control one part. However truth be told that cells are very sophisticated, having intricate structures and connections. Changing one aspect would mean you need to change many others. For example, if lets say a beneficial protein were to evolve and exist, the gene that is needed to control and regulate this protein has to also evolve.

What’s more is, most of the time, its not only just one gene but several. And they all have to simultaneously mutate, at the right time. Above all, the mutations must be beneficial, none of the destructives ones. The key to evolution thought is, it happens all by pure chance. Also we must note that destructive mutations occur more than good ones, and even if good mutations occurred, could you guarantee that the mutation would not be fixed by the repairing mechanism? Furthermore, they have to happen in the germ cells for it to be passed on.

Subhanallah! Such perfection in His Creations!
And Allah, All Might and Power to Thee, stated and questioned us in the Quran:
He Who created the seven heavens one above another: You can see no fault in the creation of the Most Gracious. So turn your vision again: seest thou any flaw?
Then look again and yet again, your sight will return to you in a state of humiliation and worn out.
(chapter 67 al mulk: verse 3-4)

We all know that statistics is not our favorite subject, but simply it seems physically impossible. Just imagine, you tying a hammer to the wagging tail of a dog, leaving all the materials to make a building on the ground. From nails, boards, windows, cement, paint. Let the dog wander as long as you please, 3 billion years maybe, and presto you have the didactic centre, beautifully made with all aspect of function in place. A bit far fetched, is it not? As human beings, we can not even create anything nearly as good as a bird, thus could pure chance have done what we see today?

Subhanallah! Such vile accusations men throw to Allah. Degrading such an impeccable Creator to the state of non-existence! Astaghfirullah! (Forgive us Allah) Glory to Thee Ya Allah.

Seest thou not that it is God Whose praises all beings in the heavens and on earth do celebrate, and the birds (of the air) with wings outspread? Each one knows its own (mode of) prayer and praise. And God knows well all that they do.
(chapter 24 an-nur: 41)

An entry in the well respected evolutionist journal, Nature: "Darwin anticipated that microevolution would be a process of continuous and gradual change. The term macroevolution, by contrast, refers to the origin of new species and divisions of the taxonomic hierarchy above the species level, and also to the origin of complex adaptations, such as the vertebrate eye.

Macroevolution posed a problem to Darwin because his principle of descent with modification predicts gradual transitions between small-scale adaptive changes in populations and these larger-scale phenomena, yet there is little evidence for such transitions in nature. Instead, the natural world is often characterized by gaps, or discontinuities. One type of gap relates to the existence of 'organs of extreme perfection', such as the eye, or morphological innovations, such as wings, both of which are found fully formed in present-day organisms without leaving evidence of how they evolved."-- Reznick, David N., Robert E. Ricklefs. 12 February 2009. Darwin's bridge between microevolution and macroevolution. Nature, Vol. 457, pp. 837-842.

Subhanallah!
Then which of the favours of your Lord will you deny?
(chapter 55 ar-rahman: 13, 16, 18….)

Astaghfirullah. I deny not any of Your favours , Ya Allah. Forgive us, of our past sins.
We beseech You not to humiliate us on the Day of Reckoning.

This year marks the 151st anniversary of the most incendiary book of science, The Origin of Species. Almost 2 centuries have passed, and so much advancement we have seen in science, especially of late.

There is no God but the One God. And Rasulullah, sent to us as His messenger. There has never been any doubt, just our ignorance. Let us return to Him and call upon others to do the same.
