Harimau Malaysia mengecewakan

YANGON 26 Nov.

Thousands protest in Malaysia, demanding Prime Minister step down

Thousands of people wearing yellow T-shirts flooded the streets of Malaysia's capital, Kuala Lumpur, on Saturday to call for the resignation of embattled Prime Minister Najib Razak.
The rally was organized by Bersih, a coalition of nongovernment organizations that want to reform and clean up Malaysia's electoral process.
Bersih means "clean" in Malay, and Saturday's rally was the fifth phase of street protests the group has undertaken. Bersih supporters wear yellow T-shirts.
Public dissatisfaction with Najib has grown, especially after news broke over alleged financial mismanagement of a government-run fund called 1Malaysia Development Berhad, or 1MDB. 1MDB was formed in 2009 to invest in property, infrastructure and energy projects. Saturday's gathering was peaceful, and monsoon rains eventually disbursed the crowd.
The last Bersih protests were in August 2015.

Burma's Million-Strong Rohingya Population Faces 'Final Stages of Genocide,' Says Report

The Rohingya Muslim community of the military-dominated Southeast Asian nation, which is now officially known as Myanmar, has been systematically persecuted and expunged from the national narrative — often at the behest of powerful extremist groups from the country’s majority Buddhist population and even government authorities — to the point where complete extermination is a possibility, according to a damning new study by the International State Crime Initiative (ISCI) at the Queen Mary University of London.

Close to 140,000 Rohingya have been sequestered in squalid camps outside the state’s capital, heavily guarded and prevented from leaving by security forces. The 4,500 that remain in Sittwe reside in a run-down ghetto with similar restrictions on movement. A majority of the Rohingya, numbering about 800,000, are spread out across two townships in northern Rakhine state — another region completely blocked off from the outside world by the military.

A lot of the food rations sent by international aid organizations never make it to the Rohingya camps, and denial of access to adequate health care have turned them into hotbeds for malnutrition and disease. As a result of the apartheid-like conditions, the inhabitants of these camps are also largely prevented from receiving an education and earning any sort of livelihood.

Lufthansa flights to Poland grounded as pilots strike

Twenty-two flights to Poland were on Thursday among more than 900 Lufthansa connections grounded as pilots continued a pay strike.

The strike at the German airline was expected to affect 14 flights to Warsaw and eight flights to Kraków, in Poland’s south.
The walk-out has forced Lufthansa to cancel flights out of Germany, including more than 80 intercontinental connections.
The Vereinigung Cockpit union, which represents Lufthansa pilots, announced that the strike, which started at midnight on Tuesday, would be extended but would affect “only short-haul” flights on Friday.
The protest is the 14th strike over pay organized by the pilots’ union since April 2014
